Today, I told Soltau that he does the Nick Miller “turtle face” often. His response was, “Why can’t I be Schmidt?” My face lit up and I sporadically outbursted, “What the. I love being around people who shed good vibes. It’s nice being around optimism. I wholeheartedly believe in this saying. The effort I put into something will result in greater rewards for me. If I try my best, the best will be given to me. If I don’t try at all, nothing will be given to me. Work to receive. Work to earn. I can’t expect things to be given to me freely. That’s not how life works.
